June 2006 There is a sudden chill in the air recently. The evenings have cooled down considerably the last few days...so if you are visitng the South Burnett please make sure you pack some winter woolies. The days , however, are still as clear and warm as ever. There is something special about the winter sun and the warmth it provides. Of course you will be snug and warm in your cottage with your fireplace roaring away. John has cut plenty of wood so you don't even have to do the hard work!! Just sit back and relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

The South Burnett is still experiencing drought conditions. This has made the area very dry. We are fortunate at Bethany to have our own bore so while we are still aware of the importance of conserving water, guests at the cottages can still enjoy green grass around them! In fact the grass around the cottages is so lush that the wallabies are venturing closer and closer, some days only a metre away from the verandahs!!

June 2005: Our guests are enjoying the cooler days here at 'Bethany' right now and the fireplaces in each cottage are proving very popular during the evenings! These spectacular winter days are also providing clear, really superb views right across the entire district.

Life on the farm has been busy lately too. Many people are unaware that we grow avocados at Bethany. We're about to start harvesting to send them through to the Brisbane Markets. So, if you drop by to see us this month, you may even be lucky enough to see the picking and packing process. (Watch out though, or you may just find yourself with a job!)
