John and Karyn Bjelke-Petersen are delighted to offer country accommodation, ‘Bethany Cottages’ on the most famous property in the South Burnett.
The cottages are perfectly positioned into the natural scrubland on the highest hill in the district, looking out towards the majestic Bunya Mountains and across farmlands.
The evenings are particularly magical at Bethany with clear skies providing a perfect backdrop for stargazing.
This working cattle property is steeped in history with the family living here for over 105 years. There are long easy walks on the property and many opportunities to view birdlife and wildlife in their natural habitats.
A variety of accommodation styles await you to encourage you to relax and unwind.
Your doggies are most welcome to visit us too as we are pet-friendly! We are a mere 8km to town and close enough for pizza delivery and the RSL bus to pick you up.

Our Pet Friendly Cottages
We have four self-contained cottages at the top of the hill, with one or two bedrooms. We are sure there will be one to suit your needs! They can be booked individually or as a group together for family gatherings or events such as weddings. Cottages can be booked for a minimum of two nights.
We also have a five bedroom home on the property, overlooking the cattle and horse yards for larger families or groups who wish to be closer to the farm action.
Check in time is 2pm and checkout time is 10am. Sunday checkout time is 11am. Later check outs can be arranged but in some cases an extra charge may apply.
All of the cottages have linen provided and also a light breakfast (cereal, toast, jams, milk, tea/ coffee). Extra meals such as a deluxe breakfast baskets, cheese platters and morning/ afternoon teas can also be ordered with 12 hours’ notice.
We also now offer a one bedroom Studio that is a perfect base for singles or couples who wish to be closer to the farm action or for short stays when in the area for work.
Finches Rest
This cottage offers two bedrooms with a queen bed and two single beds. It also has a sofa bed so potentially can sleep up to 6 guests.
